YYYAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!

Woo hoo. The countdown is over - it is Girls Weekend time! Can't wait to catch up with these girls and (much as I love them) to have some girl time away from the family.

When I get home it will be March - How did that happen?!? 2 months of this year gone already! Life will continue to be busy in March. Looks like I might have some extra shifts at work which will be soooo good, this current economic period has us stretched so tight. Also this month my boy will be turning into a teenager and my dear friend Jane has a birthday coming up. Hmm lets see - who else - Cass's DH has a b'day early in the month and Greg is in their somewhere too! I would love to get down to Melbourne to see SJ (who is one person who is so glad that February is over - what a shocker!!) but can't see that happening. :(

Hope wherever you are and whatever you are doing you have a great weekend and I will catch up on the other side of it!

One week to go!

Woo hoo the count down is on! Can't wait for next weekend.

A weekend (from fri night to sunday afternoon) just spending time catching up, chatting, and scrapping. What more could a girl ask for?!? I am so excited and thankyou to the wonderful Mel for organising this and inviting me to join them. I was so happy to get an invite. So thank you Mel - organiser extraordinaire (this girl could manage a small country easily!)

Details: a small group (only 10) of girls to sit and chat with and spend the weekend scrapping with. Some of these girls i have met and spent time with before and some I have never met before - which does kind of stress me a little but the girls I have met are so lovely and friendly so i am sure all their friends will be just as nice. Most of these girls meet up regularly to scrap together so I will be the "new girl". It sounds like so much fun and should be a wonderful relaxing and casual time. (All this and we have a pool if it gets too hot!). Oh and I get to share a room with Cass!

Can't wait - 7 days to go!

Congrats SJ and Matt

Just a quick shout out to SJ and Matt -

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

To a wonderful couple I am so priviledged to be able to call my friends. The two of you have a wonderful relationship. I love the support and care you show for each other. You both did real good - never forget how lucky you are to have found your "other half".

Hope you have a great day and congrats!

Tuesday = Madness

Why oh why does everything seem to happen on the same day? Well maybe not everything but it certainly seems like that! Tuesday is now officially Tasha's mad day. It is always our mad day but this week it was even worse.

Started with the normal morning rush - getting kids ready for school, getting me ready for the day so on, so on....... Oh and seeing Tony for a quick maybe 1 minute period. Yes literally..Tues he finishes a full shift of night work, runs through the house (even though the kids get in trouble for running in the house), gets his bike loaded and then heads off for a few hours to deliver mail.
Tuesday is my "day off" which means day to cram everything into ~L~. This week I was looking forward to a catch up lunch with the gorgeous Cass. Of course it was raining........heavy! So after getting kids ready - and driving one to school due to the rain - I headed off to Kiama to meet Cass. It was a shocker of a trip....it poured and I spent nearly half the trip sandwiched between 2 trucks who were sending so much water flying.
Had a wonderful time with Cass, chatting, checking out shops, drinking coffee, got some gorgeous bracelets for $5, oh and I mention chatting ~L~.
Then the fun started. Drove back to Nowra, straight to Tasha's school, picked her up - took her to hip hop class (via Maccas for a drink!) then her Jazz class. Then we raced home and whilst we normally have a workable although small amount of time before Girls Brigade - not this week. They had not only moved GB to Vincentia but moved it forward 1/2 an hour! MADNESS. We raced in the door kids grabbed swimmers and towels and headed off out the door.....oh wait........no maybe Kyle didn't grab a towel!!! GGGGRRRRRRRR. Must admit - yelled a lot at that moment!
Anyway 1 1/2 hours in the pool before heading home through kangaroo territory right in dusk. No didn't hit any but it was a very alert trip home! Then collapsed in a heap on the lounge. Yay day over.

ETA: Oh forgot I did see Tony again in the morning (well didn't actually see him......heard him run through the house and call out) when his postie bike got a flat and he had to race home and grab the spare. (thankyou Michael for coming to his rescue and giving him a lift)

What does your music library say about you?

I'm not sure if this is way fun, or if I really need to get out more. I had a little bit too much fun doing this, I think I shall make ALL big decisions this way from now on. Music is very wise.

What does your music library say about you?
1. Put your music mp3 player on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.

What do your friends think of you? I want it all - queen

How would you describe yourself? Man of his word - bob Carlisle

What do you like in a guy/girl? More than words - Extreme

How do you feel today? Its still rock and roll to me - Billly Joel

What is your life’s purpose? Going Home - David Meece

What is your motto? Nothin but a good time - Poison

What do you think about very often? Buses and Trains - Bachelor Girl

What is 2 + 2? High voltage - AC/DC

What do you think of your best friend? How you remind me - Nickelback

What do you think of the person you like? Lessons of the heart - Steve Grace

What will be the title of your autobiography? Video Killed the radio star - The buggles

What do you want to be when you grow up? 18 and life - Skid Row

Where is your favourite place? There is none like you - Michael W. Smith

What do you think of when you see the person you love? bubbly - colbie callait

What will you dance to at your wedding? Perfect - Vanessa Amorosi

What will they play at your funeral? A Thousand words - savage garden

What is your hobby? With one Voice - Steven Curtis Chapman

What is your biggest fear? Bills, Bills, Bills - Destiny's Child

What is your biggest secret? Complicated - Avril Lavigne

What do you think of your friends? Beautiful Ugly - Wayne Brady

lol some of these actually turned out very apt and appropriate! Some don't make any sense at all but hey this was really fun - I knew I had an amazingly eclectic mix of music on my ipod but this shuffle seemed to show off so many different genres. Could be scary if I kept going!

If you have any questions for me fire them off and i will see what the ipod says! ~L~

I finally got around to downloading pics from the camera and posting them (oops). Only took me a couple of weeks.
These pics were taken on the morning of the first day of school. I grabbed the camera just as the kids were about to head off out the door.

Grrrrrr blogger doesn't want to set them out how I want them but hey they are all there!

These pics may seem a bit strange but this watch was given to Kyle on his first day of high school by Tony. It is one Tony has had sitting aside for some time. It actually belonged to Tony's grandfather.
Kyle was stoked to have a watch with a family history and now proudly wears it to school each day (and is remembering to wind it up!)

Smiles all round

What an amazing couple of days.

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary and after looking at the bank we decided to squash the idea of going out to dinner and to put off presents for now. After all at least we remembered (and no don't laugh becaue in the past both Tony and I - and my mother - forgot our wedding anniversary until a day or two later). Anyway about midday I am at the front desk at work and in walks my DH with a bunch of red roses and some choccies and strawberries! He has been doing some extra work lately delivering for one of the contractors and used some of this money to spoil me. How sweet is he! I know that money could have gone to pay off a bill but it was lovely . And much sweeter because it was so unexpected.

Tonight Kyle went off to youth group for the first time. I wasn't sure how he would go with yr 7 - 12 there and knowing how he doesn't do well in crowds but he had a great time. He came home very enthusiastic and eager to return.

15 Years

Well it is now 15 years since Tony and I got married. Who would have thought we'd make it this far - Well I certainly didn't! Such a lot has happened in the last 15 years - well 18 years all together. Okay I know I can't claim a constant 18 years we definately have had our ups and downs but we got through it all.

Thinking back on whay we have achieved has been interesting and I had planned on a sort of photo trip down memory lane but the scanner does not want to play so you may have to use your imagination.

(See here is a picture of a young looking me and much much younger looking Tony - a guy who worked out at the gym and played sport every night of the week and had a head full of black hair)

We got married on an overcast day with short periods of rain - perfectly timed. It rained during the morning. Cleared up in time for the wedding. Rained during the service. Stopped afterwards so we could have photos outside the church. Then started to rain again so we went to the photographers studio for photos. Then it cleared up on the way to the reception so we could get some outside pics before waiting till we got inside the reception to start raining again. God was very good to us! We should have known better than to plan something on show weekend! ~L~

(here is a wedding photo!)

We have had two great kids.

(again there should be pics here of two little babies - both with headfulls of hair)

We don't always agree and I don't think either of us is easy to live with but I am so glad that i have this man by my side and on my side when the times get tough. He can be irritatingly stubborn but can also be relyingly stubborn. He can be terribly pig-headed and also fiercely loyal. He is a wonderful father and adored by his kids. He stands by me and by us when I give up and throw my hands up in despair. He refuses to give up on us and gets mad at me when I don't push for the best for me. He stands up for me when I feel I can't stand up for myself. He puts me first without putting me on a pedestal. He believed in us when I had believed we had no future. Most importantly he is there - always.

There is a song that I have in my car that always remonds of Tony. It is a song by Bob Carlisle called "A man of his word" and this one verse always grabs me:

He was a rock
He was the one that she ran to
And when he said the words "Forever"
She knew that it was true
He wasn't a saint
But he was saint enough for her
He was a man,
A man of his word.

Anyway we have managed to raise two kids who (so far) haven't turn out too badly. And we have stuck together - we made it to 15 years against the odds (and against my best efforts to try and make sure we didn't) and even though we don't always get it right and we don't always get it without upset and tears but we do get there together.

So I guess what I am saying is Thank you Tony for sticking by me and for having faith in us and our marriage when I didn't. Thank you for being there for me always and for believing I am worth standing beside and standing up for. MWAH. Thanks for 15 years - may we have heaps more.

Love is in the air!

Poor cupid must be very busy at this time of year!

Lets see - to start things off I have to say Happy Anniversary to Kaycee and Dean for today.

Then tomorrow is the anniversary of my dear friends Cass and Dale and .....hmmm lets see...... oh yeah - Tony and I!

Then we have Simone and Greg's anniversary coming up at the end of the week!
